In July 2018, the game director of Sengkala Dev, Karim has accepted as speaker in “Sriwijaya dan Poros Maritim Dunia”, the event held by the Ministry of Education and Culture. This seminar was for celebrating the 100 years of rediscovery of Srivijaya Empire by George Coedes , the French orientalist and was held in Aryaduta hotel, Palembang, the capital of South Sumatera.
There were many important speakers invited including Prof. John Norman Miksic. He is from SEAS-National Univ. of Singapore and will explain Reviving The Srivijaya’s study. But unfortunately, he can’t attend and only his assistant explained the Miksic’s paper on Tuesday, 7 August 2018.
After this seminar, Karim is interested in making Srivijaya’s game. But this idea was fully realized in late 2020 with Dato of Srivijaya. Now, Dato of Srivijaya has fully remastered
and 2nd updated in 24 October 2025.
Hearing the latest news that Prof. John Miksic passed away yesterday made Sengkala Dev deeply condolence.
