Prof. Anthony Ried was passed away yesterday at 4.00 morning at local time. I got the news about 11 o’clock mornings in local time. I was shocked this news. Prof. Anthony Reid very important historian from New Zealand who focuses on the history of Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia.
His most important and famous work was Southeast Asia in the Age of Commerce 1450-1680. This becomes very important for those historian student from undergraduate to doctoral to understanding southeast Asia. I had met him in 19 March 2019 in Indonesia Spices Routes Forum as he speaks in this forum as speaker. I remember at that forum, he asked to audience why Karaeng Pattingalloang, Sultan of Tallo, not much known as Sultan Hassanudin, Sultan of Gowa, while his knowledge in science and foriegn language unlike other aristocrats in Indonesia.
Antony Ried involved in Indonesia Heritage: An Early Modern History as writer and editor. This illustration book very informative for those new in history Indonesia to understanding the history of Indonesia from 15th century to 19th century. Short description, but explained the main element of events. I read this book in 2012 when I was in 10th grade in the high school.
At that time, I not much known at this period and after reading this book, I got highlight Indonesia in this era. From this book, I got more inspiration to love history of Indonesia and become a reason I have earned a history undergraduate degree at Universitas Indonesia since 2015 until 2019 and established of Sengkala Dev since 2015.

Perang Laut-Maritime Warfare set in 15fh to 18th century with scope Indonesia archipelago. The main goal of this game is conquer all cities from Sumatra to Papua. To reach the goal, player must construct the economy and military infrastructure. After that’s,player must prepare the troops and navies.
Hope in future after Dato of Srivijaya and other projects, Sengkala Dev remaster this project.
